CIRCLE OF LOVE
11/9/10
This is the month that we remember the birth of our nation that began with the Pilgrims. We are all Pilgrims here on earth with a purpose to love God and thank him for His goodness. Here are some scriptures to remember as we prepare the pies that will be distributed to the 20 families on Nov. 21 by our Missionettes and Royal Rangers.
· As we reflect on our fellowship and each other we look at Philippians 1:3-5; I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now.
· Paul is praying for the : 1 Thessalonians 3:9-10 For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God.
Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? Do we pray for one another like this???
· In Colossians 3:15 we read: And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
· Colossians 2:6-7: As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him:
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith as you have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Is that how we are walking?
· 1 Chronicles 16:8: Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. That’s where most of the church falls down. We are too timid to start the conversation!
· Psalm 30:12: To the end that my (David’s) glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent, O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. This should be our daily prayer.
· Psalm 35:18: I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people. Let this be our resolve as we go into this season of thanksgiving and sharing.
New business: We have been asked by a local church to adopt a family for Christmas. It is just a Mom and two sons. Nicolas is 4 years old and Buddy is 16. The elder boy likes basket ball & sports. His clothing size is 32 waist, 30 length. The younger boy is size 6. We don’t have to spend much. Your suggestions as to how to go about this are needed. This was brought to my attention by Deb Demello.
No meeting in December. I want to focus on making the Christmas dinner after service really festive and special. Your suggestions are most welcome.
